NTR46/22 RANGE
The NTR46/22 is Nitron's range of
MacPherson struts. The struts use the same 46mm diameter piston
as the NTR46/16 series but instead use a large 22mm diameter piston
rod to withstand the inherent bending forces from this layout.
There are essentially two types of strut tube Nitron use as part
of their NTR car kits, the first has plain tubes that go
directly into the upright, for example Porsche 996/BMW E46.
The second is a 'foot bracket' where this application-specific
assembly screws onto a threaded body tube, by doing so offering
length adjustment, for example Mitsubishi Evo/BMW E36.
NTR46/22 KEY FEATURES
- Lightweight rod-up design
- Fully CNC billet machined and screwed together, no welding
- Alloy parts fully titanium and hard anodised (Defence Std. 03-26/2) so no
corrosion
- Steel tubes have black electroplated finish for ultimate
durability
- Fully re-buildable and re-valvable
- Infinite range of bump / rebound ratios, which can be changed
at any time
- Low friction double point rod seal and double acting rod
scraper system
- Separate nitrogen gas charge with fully floating aluminium
piston design
- Teflon banded piston and floating piston; no metal to metal
contact
- Take 60mm / 2.5" ID racing coils
- Highest quality Teflon lined spherical bearings
- Infinite ride height adjustment, lock rings included
- Top plate assemblies isolated on needle-roller bearings for
precise steering
There are three types of shock available, the NTR Sport,
NTR Track and NTR Race. These have one,
two and three damping adjustments respectively.
NTR Sport
The single adjuster knob on the top of the rod affects both bump and rebound together
for simple setup and more road-biased use. These shocks
have no remote reservoir.
NTR Track
As its name suggests, these shocks are designed for the more
circuit-orientated car or bike. The shocks feature
independent bump and rebound adjusters, making it 2-way
adjustable for more detailed chassis tuning. They have remote
reservoirs that are either hose or piggyback mounted onto the
main shock.
NTR Race
These shocks are designed for serious race use, and as such
incorporate high and low speed bump control valves for further
chassis fine tuning. As with the NTR Track, these
3-way shocks feature remote canisters that are either hose or
piggyback mounted.
Nitron provide a full CAD design service to its customers so
feel free to contact us to assist you in the design of your
shock, either using existing parts we have or we can design and
machine special parts for you.
Nitron do not manufacture any 'upside down' struts or inserts,
all Nitron's struts have the piston rod and the rebound adjuster
at the top, with any remote reservoir coming off the bottom end.
