SHOCK RANGE
Nitron manufacture two different ranges of shocks, the generic
NTR range, and the very specialised NTF range. It is from these
ranges that the car and bike kits are produced, but in addition
to this Nitron can also offer bespoke shocks tailored to the
customer's requirement using their generic range of parts.
All Nitron shocks are high pressure gas monotubes.
The NTR range is available in 3 different piston diameters:
35mm, 40mm and 46mm. However, the 35mm pistons are used almost
entirely in Japan for twin-shock motorcycles, which require a
smaller spring.
The standard NTR shocks used in the majority of Nitron product
is either the NTR40 (40mm) or NTR46 (46mm) product. The NTR46 is
fitted with either a 16mm rod, or a 22mm rod when used as a
MacPherson strut (NTR46/16 and NTR46/22 respectively).
The NTF range is specifically for small and very high
performance cars like Formula 3, small sportscars like
Junos
or supercars like the
Caparo T1.
In 2008 Nitron produced the NTF Pro series of shocks, these were
based on the NTF range but each component was analysed and
stripped of any excess material, resulting in the lightest 3-way
damper available. Both the NTF and NTF Pro dampers use a 30mm
piston.
The NTR40 and NTR46 are modular by design and screwed together,
as such most of the parts are interchangeable. This allows us to
manufacture special shocks and prototypes very easily. There are
a wide variety of tube lengths, rod lengths and end fittings
available off the shelf to answer almost any fitting
application.
